LIMNANTHES ALBA SEED OIL [MEADOWFOAM]

Meadowfoam oil

The oil obtained from the seed of the north American meadowfoam protects skin very well and makes dry, flaky skin supple again. It is absorbed well and does not leave any oily film on the skin.

SQUALANE

Squalane

Squalane, derived from sugar cane or olives, is very similar to the skin’s natural squalene. This botanical oil leaves skin feeling silky and non-greasy. It has smoothing and moisture-retaining effects.

BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER [SHEA]

Shea butter

The organic shea butter, obtained from the vitellaria tree, is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins. Shea butter offers very good skin protection and makes dry, flaky skin supple again.

Sclerotium gum

Sclerotium gum, sustainably obtained using biotechnology, is a long-chain carbohydrate. It is used as a natural viscosity regulator and emulsion stabilizer.

Ectoin

The amino acid ectoin, sustainably obtained using biotechnology, is a protective molecule that microorganisms use to protect themselves from drying out due to heat, UV radiation and high salt concentrations. In cosmetics, ectoin has moisturizing, smoothing and firming effects. In addition, it protects against the negative consequences of UV radiation.

TOCOPHEROL

Vitamin E

Vitamin E, derived from vegetable oils, stabilizes cosmetics. As an antioxidant, it protects against free radicals and thus against premature skin aging. It also prevents skin damage caused by UV rays.

Salt of levulinic acid

This salt of levulinic acid stabilizes the pH level of cosmetics and has an antimicrobial effect.

HAEMATOCOCCUS PLUVIALIS EXTRACT

Blood rain algae extract, green algae

This colorless carotenoid, obtained from blood red algae or green algae, has an antioxidant effect 14 times stronger than that of vitamin E. It protects against free radicals and thus helps to prevent premature skin aging. It is also used as a natural colorant.

ROSA FLORIBUNDA CALLUS EXTRACT

"Black Forest Rose" oil-soluble extract from stem cell culture (sustainable, modern and GMO-free method for deriving active substances from plants)

These sustainably obtained extracts from Black Forest rose stem cells were developed exclusively for Börlind. Both extracts have a moisturizing effect. The lipo-soluble extract stimulates the skin’s own hyaluronic acid production, strengthens the skin’s protective barrier and increases skin elasticity. The hydro-soluble extract activates the skin’s collagen synthesis, while at the same time inhibiting collagen breakdown and thus counteracting skin aging.

CI 77491 [IRON OXIDES]

Red iron oxide

This cosmetic colorant is used to color skin care products and decorative cosmetics.

What is blue light and why it is harmful?

Blue light is the light that digital media such as smartphones, tablets and laptops emit. The energy-rich blue light rays penetrate into the skin more deeply than UV light. This can have negative effects on the skin, such as damage to DNA in mitochondria, formation of free radicals, blue light-induced oxidative stress and cell damage. The negative effects of blue light accelerate skin aging.
