This was one of Annemarie Lindner’s mottos. She followed it with great passion throughout her life. But the natural cosmetics pioneer did not have an easy life: She experienced expropriation in the German Democratic Republic twice, fled to West Germany, and started anew in the Black Forest. But she was a visionary whose convictions remained unshaken. She pursued her idea of systematic beauty care using nature’s treasures consistently and without compromising.
Our products not only receive many awards today – this has been the case from the very beginning. Before a product could be launched in the GDR, an anonymized sample had to be submitted for quality testing. All the creams produced by “Annemarie Lindner – Kräuter-Präparate” – received an “S” for premium quality. True to the quality claim:
“If I can’t eat it, I won’t put it on my skin.” – Annemarie Lindner
Annemarie Lindner and her husband did not have an easy life in the GDR. Lectures on skincare in print and on the radio made her products very popular, but they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The couple’s business had been expropriated twice, and the third time seemed imminent in the summer of 1958. For this reason, Annemarie and Walter Lindner decided to flee to the West together. It was a difficult step, but it was also the start of something big: Börlind GmbH.
