Water is the most common ingredient in cosmetics. It acts as a solvent and helps hydrate the skin. At our production site, we use our own BÖRLIND deep spring water, sourced from a depth of 166 meters and known for its exceptional purity.
COCO-CAPRYLATE/CAPRATE
Fatty acid ester
This vegetable oil component is absorbed well by the skin and leaves no oily film.
ALCOHOL
Pure undenatured ethyl alcohol, potable alcohol
Pure (undenatured) potable alcohol, derived from the fermentation of plants containing starch or sugar, is used as a solvent for extracts and active substances. It also has refreshing, vascular toning and preserving effects.

Glycerin, derived from vegetable oil, has a moisturizing effect.

This mixture of natural clay minerals, created by the weathering of volcanic ash, thickens and stabilizes emulsions.

Organic aloe vera is a traditional natural remedy. The extract has anti-inflammatory, moisturizing and soothing properties. In powdered form, aloe vera can be used in high concentrations and without preservatives.

Sea salt obtained from Brittany or the Dead Sea is used as a sustainable, gentle exfoliant. The minerals and trace elements it contains also nourish, sooth and moisturize the skin when dissolved.

Plastics can be used in cosmetics in the form of exfoliating beads or as liquid plastic. Annemarie Börlind formulations do not contain microplastics - neither in solid nor in liquid form.

What is hyaluronic acid and how does it work?

Hyaluronic acid is a type of sugar and is produced naturally in the body. The largest amount is found in our skin. What’s special is that it’s able to bind an extremely large amount of water. One gram of hyaluronan can hold up to six liters of water. The hydrating effect of hyaluronan in skincare products makes the skin look firm and fresh, plumps up small wrinkles and keeps the skin from drying out.
